My Lofi Girl Halloween Submission

Hey guys! Hope you're enjoying yourselves on my blog! I love Lofi Girl, and just yesterday they posted a Halloween story contest starring Lofi Girl and her cat! If you want to enter, here's the link (Deadline is October 21st!), so this is just what I entered:

The Letter

Lofi Girl was working. Lightning was threatening to split the skies outside her apartment window. Her cat

meowed softly.

Lofi Girl reached over and scratched his/her ears. He/she tried to bite her.

She sighed and returned to her work.

Her cat was usually in a bad mood because she wouldn’t feed him/her enough, despite being plump

already.

Lofi Girl went to turn a

page of her notebook, her pen poised. But she stopped.

Instead of a blank page, a letter written in red was scrawled across the page.

Lofi Girl bent down to read the smudged and spotted words.

She is in danger. Cat possessed. Once she reaches this page, it’ll try to do her in. You know what to do.

Lofi Girl stared at the letter. Were those letters made with ink or blood? She rubbed her eyes. She had

been studying for days, maybe her eyes were tired.

But no… the words were still there.

Lofi Girl glanced quickly at her cat, and screamed. Her cat was elongating, his/her tabby coat turning to

silver, his/her eyes becoming a clouded-over fiery scarlet. He/she bared pointed, yellowish,

bloodstained teeth at Lofi Girl. A ghost was writhing and twisting in her cat’s belly, screaming bloodlust.

Lofi Girl dropped her pen. Music was still playing from her laptop.

The possessor of her cat suddenly burst from the his/her flesh, still screaming. Lofi Girl yelled and tried

to throw her potted plant at the ghost. It went through it and broke the window.

Now the ghost was reaching towards her with clawed hands, saying in a hoarse whisper, “Let me rip you… let me tear you… let me kill you…”

Lofi Girl ran. Ran out of her room, ran out of her apartment and into the dark, rainswept Tokyo streets,

the ghost following, cackling with insane laughter. Lofi Girl tripped and stumbled, scraping her face on

the ground, the blood running from her cuts dimly lit by the ghost possessor above her. “It ends here,

Lofi Girl…” it said, with another cackle of mad laughter, then it lunged, lunged through Lofi Girl, trapping her true

self, making her the next victim of its wrath. Her normally kind black eyes lost their glow and became

clouded and pupiless. Nobody was safe now.

6 Months later…

Destruction was everywhere. Everyone was either dead or possessed. Except for one small girl. She

stood brave and tall in the wreckage surrounding her, facing the girl who had helped so many people

study and relax. Lofi Girl’s clothes were ripped and bloody, her hands were also covered in the blood of

her victims.

But behind her eyes, a constant war was waging for control. Ghost versus girl. The little girl watched

Lofi Girl struggle, wishing she could help. But she couldn’t. She knew that this had nothing to do with

her, even though she was her aunt. At last, after months of forced subduction, Lofi Girl was fighting

back. And the little girl believed in her. But she could not win.

This is actually much darker than my usual posts, but I hope it was spooky enough for you 👻

Happy Halloween! Feel free to comment what you're going as (I'm going as Luna Lovegood! :D)
